Christine D's Peace Out Afghan for Renee

UPDATE: I had requests to know what the yarns were. Yarns used were: Redheart kids Cruise Blue. Red Heart Kids Bikini and Red Heart Super Saver Black. Thanks for that info Christine!

About a month or so ago, I received the letter below from Christine D. aka Wyldbutterfly. She had just purchased the Peace Out pattern. Above is a picture of her completed afghan she sent me today. You did a great job Christine. It's groovy!

I just wanted to thank you for creating this pattern. I've been looking all over the stores for a peace sign pattern and couldn't find any. I decided to come home and check on line and came across a link and picture of your pattern. I was completely ecstatic as I am not good at creating patterns.I really needed this pattern as when I am finished making the afghan it is being donated to a very worthy cause.

On June 8th of this year a friend of mines daughter was brutally murdered while working. She was beaten to death by two teenagers in the group home she worked for. Anyone who knew Renee, knew that she absolutely loved peace signs, tie died, karaoke, dolphins and so much more. The afghan will be raffled off at an event they are having in her honor on what would have been her 25'th birthday. All monies collected will go towards a scholarship fund to a local student who will be going into the human services field. Once again thank you so much for creating this pattern.

If you feel like it you can go to http://www.reneegreco.com/ That is a web site about Renee and her benefit. Thank you once again for your wonderful pattern.

Please go check out the web-site she mentions above. I wish I could have known Renee. Such a tragic thing to happen to a great person.

Donna
