Testers Found - Foxs Flower Button Granny 6x6

UPDATE: Testers are - CAPRICE, SANDRA, DIANA, JEWEL AND SHERI
I really think this center looks like a four hole button and the yellow makes it look like a flower. I'm open to re-naming the pattern. If you can come up with a better name for this pattern, feel free to speak up. I'm always open to new names before a pattern is released to the public.

If you want to be a tester, read the instructions below and let's get started! This time and from now on, everyone who tests any of the patterns will have their picture of the completed tested item shown in the blog next to their name as a tester. So show off your talents.

Kay's Heart of a Child afghan

Hello everyone,

I just received the picture and email below from Kay. She created this very pretty afghan to be donated to charity and it's so darned cute, I just had to share it with you. I just love to see pictures of completed items from my patterns. WTG Kay!! She used the very original Heart of a Child pattern before it was revised. Even the un-revised pattern looks charming in her picture. I sent her an updated revised pattern for next time.

Hi,

I just thought you might like to see a project I just finished using your pattern. It will be donated to Project Linus. The border pattern is on Kim Guzman's website.

Thanks everyone for sending in pictures of your squares. I'm sure there are still a couple of people who haven't sent in the pictures yet but I'll put them up when I receve them.

The pattern is now ready and I'll post it soon. The name of the square has officially been changed because of a comment made by Sandra. She said it looked like the Celtic Cross and she's right. For some reason I like that design in the start of a lot of my squares.
Happy Crocheting!

What are you working on?

I have been busy working on completing the knitted shadow illusion heart scarf pictured above. I did change the pattern slightly so that it has purple and white hearts instead of just one color hearts and I also made it wider. I like the way it turned out. I did 5 hearts going each direction. If you aren't sure what knitted shadow illusion is... well when you look at the scarf straight on - all you see are stripes of purple and white but when you look at it from an angle you see the pattern of the hearts.

Here's the link to where I found the pattern: http://laurasknits.googlepages.com/heartillusionscarfpattern

The thing I like about her pattern is that she didn't just give a chart with confusing squares with dots and dashes. She wrote out the pattern. What I didn't like was that it needed to be updated to add extra stitches at the front and end of all rows. So if you start out knitting it with the added stitches and then forget to add them because you're busy following the pattern, you will have to rip out your stitches.

Now I'm off to make some 6" squares for Online Angels. They really need our help.

What are YOU all working on? Did anyone use the Christmas patterns I posted to make any afghans? I'd love to see your completed projects using those patterns. I took down the patterns because I didn't get much feedback pictures even though hundreds of people downloaded the free patterns. So please, if you want other's to be able to download the Christmas patterns, email me your pictures of completed blankets!

OnlineAngels

I had a very nice email from Mary who has an organization that needs knitting and crocheting help.

Please click on their link at the bottom of this posting and check out this charity. Let's spread the love around everyone. When looking at the progress of this charity (you can find it near the bottom of their home page) it looks like they went from delivering 18 boxes in 2000 to over 6,000 in 2009. That is quite a growth and shows the need that there is to help people in need!

Mary says they need and accept:

6 and 12 inch crochet squares,

Laprobes, blankets, quilts, afghans

Hats, gloves, scarves, mittens, earwarmers

Slippers

Chemo hats

Pillowcases

All baby items

Stockings

Their link is: http://onlineangels.myftp.org

Please dig into your hearts and help those in need!
