Dexter - The Television Show on SHOWTIME

I just heard a rumor - Michael C. Hall who plays Dexter got married. He eloped with his on-screen co-star. I did some checking and he married the woman who played his sister on the show!

I'm floored. I figured if he would marry anyone from the show it would be his on-screen girlfriend Rita.

Am I the only person who was shocked that he got married. Does anyone else watch the show?

Fox's I Love You Hearts 12 x 12

I've been working on designing this heart square since the night, about a week ago, that I got word that my Mother had been admitted into the hospital. For this entire week, I've been a nervous wreck. Unable to eat or think straight and of course worried to death that each time I spoke to my sister or my dad (down in Dallas) to find out more about how my mom was doing, I'd hear that she had passed away. Some of you know that I work for the Public Defenders office and all day long I talk to people accused of committing crimes and they are locked up in jail. I can't tell you how many times that I wanted to lash out at some of them when they were rude to me or when they asked me to do something for them that was just a simple thing like looking up information about a future court date. Their phone calls should have been a pleasant distraction to my pre-occupation with thinking about my Mom but I sort of felt I was going through a pre-grieving period that I needed as I prepared myself for the bad news. The only thing that kept me sane was crocheting once I got home at night.
Last night, I got the best news ever about her condition and after giving thanks to the Lord and doing a lot of praising the Lord, I sat down for the first time in a week and ate the biggest meal I've had since Thanksgiving a few years ago. I finally felt like I could breath again.
With a very full stomach and a clear mind, I then got back to completing this square. It is going to be a square that is sold so I only wanted to ask for 5 FOLLOWERS to test it. No more than that. If you are testing the Quick and Simple square, you can't test this pattern until I receive your emailed pictures and pattern errors. Then if I don't have 5 people yet, you can test this one for me.
Please only ask to test this square if you are experienced at checking patterns for errors and can send me an emailed picture. When sending pictures please crop them and don't leave your strings showing or other items in the background. I'd like to show the pictures off under the items crocheted from my patterns here on the blog or if I don't have enough pictures for the on-line store, I'll ask if I can use it in the pattern or the on-line store and give you credit for the contribution of the picture.
Followers wanting to test should emal me at SmoothFoxLover@yahoo.com and include your follower name.

Testers Found - Simple Quick square

I'm opening this square up for testing. Suggestions for naming the square are always appreciated. If you would like to help name the square, add a comment with your follower name and the name you suggest for the square. If someone suggests the name I decide to use for the final name of the square, I'll give you a free pattern from my on-line store. If I decide not to use any of the names, the person who provides the 7th comment with a square name will receive the free pattern.

Now about this square, I tried very hard to make this square "simple" with no fancy stitches and also to make it a quick square to crochet. Hence, one color squares. It is a 6" x 6" square pattern but has an additional round to make it 7" x 7". The picture above are of the 6" x 6" version.

If you're interested in testing, send me an email to SmoothFoxLover@yahoo.com. Only FOLLOWERS are able to test. A subscriber and a follower are not the same. If you want to become a follower, click on the link over in the right column on my blog under followers and follow the instructions. Be sure to update your profile with any picture please.

When you email me, please include your FOLLOWER name. I'd like testing to be completed no later than Sunday and I'd like to have an emailed picture sent to me of your completed squares. I would also like pattern corrections or errors emailed to me. Feel free to change colors each round if you'd like or do it all the same color.

Testers Found - Foxs Vertigo

Update: Testing is over and I thank you again for all of your input. I received some great names for the square and some of them might show up as the name of future squares that I design. If you were the person who suggested the final name of Fox's Vertigo Square, you're the winner. Send me an email for your free pattern.

Hi all,
If you'd like to test this pattern for me, feel free to drop me an email. Only subscribers need apply.

I don't need very many people to test it. If you think you can test it in a timely manner, give me pattern errors or corrections and an emailed picture, by all means, email me to test.

Once again, I don't know what to name this square besides Foxs Spiral Optical Illusion. So post comments with names for the pattern. Whichever name I pick for the final square name - that person will get a free pattern from my on-line shop. If there are no names for the square that I like, I'll give the free pattern to person who posts the 10th comment with a name suggestion.

Treasure Hunt for a FREE CROCHET PATTERN

Want a free crochet pattern from my ETSY shop? Well, today's your lucky day. Let's do a treasure hunt for the information you need to get the free pattern. The answer's are all here on my blog except the free pattern. Follow the rules to get your Treasure Hunt Pattern.

Here are the rules for the "Treasure Hunt for a free crochet pattern"

1. Not a follower yet? Become one! Already a follower? Well you must be a follower of my blog WITH a picture attached to your profile. If you hoover your mouse over the followers without a picture and see your name just go put a picture in your profile. Any picture will do. If you hoover over the followers and don't see your name and picture - become a follower. As for the picture - I put a picture of my favorite crochet square. Please don't ask me how to do it. I just hunted around and figured it out and I'm sure you can to. If you can't figure it out, I'm sorry - but you won't qualify for the free pattern.

2. You must also find the "subscribe via email" button or "subscribe via feed" button and become a subscriber. If you select subscribe via email you will enter your email address, go to your email and you will find an email asking you if you want to subscribe. If you do, there will be a link that you click on. If you have already subscribed then you are one step ahead of the others.

3. Go to the bottom of all of the blog posts on the main page. Below the last posting by me - there is a window showing my SmoothFox merchandise. Watch for the one travel mug to show. Write down what is written on it.

4. Find the link here on my blog to my shop. Go to the shop and browse around the patterns. Pick a pattern you want to have. Nothing higher than $2.50. You can click on squares all you want before you choose (write down the name of the one you want) but DO NOT click on a square to purchase it unless you really want to purchase it. If you do purchase 2 squares you will qualify for the buy two get one free so you will get this additional free pattern mentioned in this posting plus the other free one.

5. After finding the FREE pattern you want, send me an email. You will find my email address listed somewhere here on the blog.

6. In the subject line of the email put - TREASURE HUNT - FREE PATTERN

7. In the body of your email give me the name of the pattern you want free and your real name, what was written on the travel mug, your follower name (I will check to make sure you are a follower with a picture) and how you heard about my blog. IMPORTANT - tell me if you are an email subscriber or a feed subscriber. For some reason the email subscription hasn't been emailing updates so I have to create a "group" of the email addresses in google and set it up here in blogger to get it to work. Apparently you can't have more than 10 email subscribers without setting up a group list of email address.

Follow all the instructions and you will receive the pattern via email as an attachment. It will be an MSWord .doc document.

This offer will expire when I delete this post or update that this post is closed.

What did you do New Years Eve?

I crocheted, of course, on New Years Eve. I made the top left square for one of my exchange partners at Crochet Partners yahoo group using my pattern called Fox's A Cozy Warm Square. The heart pattern is my favorite one and I made it for another fellow exchange partner in the same group using my Fox's Heart of a Hippie Square. The top right square is one I'm working on just to see if I can make another optical illusion square. I want to work on it and tweek it more.

I'd love to see some of the items you've made using some of my patterns. If you'd be so kind as to email me a picture of your project's, I'd love to post them here on the blog under items made from my patterns.
