What are you working on?

I have been busy working on completing the knitted shadow illusion heart scarf pictured above. I did change the pattern slightly so that it has purple and white hearts instead of just one color hearts and I also made it wider. I like the way it turned out. I did 5 hearts going each direction. If you aren't sure what knitted shadow illusion is... well when you look at the scarf straight on - all you see are stripes of purple and white but when you look at it from an angle you see the pattern of the hearts.

Here's the link to where I found the pattern: http://laurasknits.googlepages.com/heartillusionscarfpattern

The thing I like about her pattern is that she didn't just give a chart with confusing squares with dots and dashes. She wrote out the pattern. What I didn't like was that it needed to be updated to add extra stitches at the front and end of all rows. So if you start out knitting it with the added stitches and then forget to add them because you're busy following the pattern, you will have to rip out your stitches.

Now I'm off to make some 6" squares for Online Angels. They really need our help.

What are YOU all working on? Did anyone use the Christmas patterns I posted to make any afghans? I'd love to see your completed projects using those patterns. I took down the patterns because I didn't get much feedback pictures even though hundreds of people downloaded the free patterns. So please, if you want other's to be able to download the Christmas patterns, email me your pictures of completed blankets!

Hi Donna! Love your scarf! I didn't really get anything crocheted for Christmas this year, because I was so busy MOVING!.. But now that I'm finally feeling settled in a little better, I am just starting to get my yarns and hooks out again! (Hooray!!!) I did, just today, pull out a certain Valentine hat I made some time ago!! STILL LOVE it!!! Wishing you all the best for a very Happy 2010! ~tina
