Mystery book identified

UPDATE:  MYSTERY SOLVED!  THANKS TO MARY ELLEN WHO FOUND THE BOOK STORED IN A SHED AND SANDRA FOR ABOUT 20 EMAILS OF ENCOURAGMENT AND WONDERFUL TIPS AND REMARKS, I FINALLY MASTERED THE CONFUSING PATTERN.  WTG LADIES! THANKS A MILLION!

Here's the book this pattern came out of.  I had no idea that Leisure Arts had a "magazine" back in 1997. Mary Ellen said it was mostly Cross Stitch and some craft patterns.

ORIGINAL POSTING:

I have tried this pattern at least 6 times since 2008 and always get hung-up on the same place in the pattern. I'm very frustrated! If you have made this afghan before, I'd like to exchange emails to figure out why I am getting confused.

CAN YOU IDENTIFY WHERE THIS PATTERN CAME FROM?

HAVE YOU MADE THIS BLANKET? IF SO, I WANT TO TALK WITH YOU.

PLEASE EMAIL ME THE NAME OF THE BOOK, WHO PUBLISHES IT AND IF YOU KNOW - WHERE I CAN FIND IT ON-LINE.  First person that does this can select a free pattern from my store.

I've searched and I can't find it, closest I came was this one http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/scrap-hearts-afghan
I assume it's from an old magazine, I took out my Country Afghans mag from 2004 but it's laid out differently. Reminds me of a format I've seen before but I'm not sure where :(

This is my first time posting here, my name is Lori and I found your blog from the Daily pattern from dailycrocheter.com. I did sign up as a follow, I only needed one look to know this is one site I want to follow. My follower name is Lori P. or hazel44, I wasn't sure how that was going to appear.

I just wanted to say thanks so much for putting your patterns out for everyone to enjoy. I downloaded some free patterns and also bought a couple. You are very talented. Thanks!

Hi - this is Elsi. I found this pattern for sale in an expire eBay posting. The seller says "You are bidding on a crochet pattern from a Leisure Arts magazine." Turns out that the seller lives in the next town over. I'll be glad to try and get in touch with her and see if she has any information about which Leisure Art book it came from.

To answer your questions. I found your blog because you offered your Celtic Granny Square and it was selected as the March CAL square by the Ravelry Block-a-Month group. I am not signed up as a follower; I tend to follow blogs through RSS and Bloglines rather than signing up as a follower.

Elsi again -- I took a look on the Leisure Arts web site and although I didn't find this particular afghan featured on any of the book covers and their site doesn't show anything but the cover, I did find a book which contains 6 afghans for babies, each afghan featuring hearts. Take a look at this link:

Glad I could help, Donna, although I didn't do much more than find the pattern. At least now I know where all my cross stitch magazines are. LOL. I really needed to organize the shed and you gave me the kick I needed to get going.
