INSTRUCTIONS:
Blanket is worked in a spiral. Do not join rounds. Do not crochet over unused yarn.

Using color A, ch 4, join with a slip st in first ch to form a ring.

Round 1: Ch 3 place stitch marker around the ch-3, 9 dc in ring, ch 1; pull up loop of yarn, insert st holder, drop color A. (10 dc)

REMINDER - DO NOT JOIN ROUNDS

Round 2: Using color B join with a slip st in top of ch-3 from round 1, ch 3, dc in same st, ch 1, group made *(2 dc in next st, ch 1), repeat from * 9 total times; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn. (20 dc, 10 ch-1 sps) (10 total groups, 2 sts in each group)
Round 3: Pick up color A, tighten yarn slightly, 1 tr around marked ch-3 from round 1, 1 dc in top of first color B st, dc in next st, ch 2, first group made, *(sk ch sp, dc in first st of next group, 2 dc in next st, ch 2) group made, repeat from * around; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn. (1 tr, 29 dc, 9 ch-2 sps) (10 total groups, 3 sts in each group)

Round 4: Pick up next color yarn, tighten yarn slightly, *(sk ch sp, dc in each st to last st of group, 2 dc in last st of group, ch 2) group made, repeat from * around; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn. (40 dc, 10 ch-2 sps) (10 total groups, 4 sts in each group)

Round 5 thru completion of blanket - Repeat round 4 alternating between the two yarn colors. Continue with pattern until blanket reaches desired size then follow instructions for finishing.

NOTE: OUTER ROUND WILL CUP OR ROLL INWARD SLIGHTLY. IF YOUR BLANKET SEEMS TO CUP TOO MUCH, USE THE OPTIONAL ROUND BELOW. DON’T USE THE ROUND TOO OFTEN OR YOUR BLANKET MAY WARP.  Most testers did not need to use the optional round

OPTIONAL ROUND: Pick up next color yarn, tighten yarn slightly, *(sk ch sp, dc in each st of group across to last st 2 sts, 2 dc in each of the last 2 sts of group, ch 2) group made, repeat from * around; pull up loop, insert st holder in loop, drop current yarn.

Finishing:
On final round of color A continue pattern until you have 3 stitches left before the last ch-2 sp, (hdc in next 2 sts, sc in last st, slip st in ch-2 sp). Finish off.

On final round of color B continue pattern until you have 3 stitches left before the last ch-2 sp, (hdc in next 2 sts, sc in last st, slip st in ch-2 sp). Finish off.
