De'Anna's afghans for Mended Little Hearts

I received an email from De'Anna who recently made some afghans for a charity called Mended Little Hearts.  I really love how they turned out.  The top picture is my pattern called Christmas Heart and is part of the Christmas Cheer Afghan patterns which is a free set of patterns.  It looks so pretty!  The ripple pattern is my Rainbow Heart Round Ripple pattern.  She did a great job and I believe they will be cherished!

Here is her email.

Hi Donna,

I thought you would like to see the afghans I made so far with the patterns I got from you. They went to a program called Mended Little Hearts to go with the care packages they put together <3 Thank you very much for offering such fun and easy to read patterns.

Kay's Peace Out Blanket

I received an email from Kay and she made this awesome afghan from my Peace Out pattern.  She has made this child size afghan for Project Linus.  Some lucky child is going to have such a big smile when he or she receives it.   I think it is so darned cute!  I love it.

Way to go Kay!  I just love seeing what everyone does with my patterns.  Please feel free to send me pictures of items you've made anytime!

Testers Found - Fox's A Whole Lotta Holes 12x12

UPDATE: TESTERS ARE BARBARA M, MOLLY, MARION, CAPRICE AND CATHY

I have about 5 large one pound skeins of 3 ply baby sport weight yarn and thought to myself, what can I design that is something I can watch tv and crochet while making and not have to refer to a pattern.  I also wanted something that once you get the hang of it, is so easy you can continue and make it into a blanket or just stop at 12 x 12.  Well, this was what I came up with.  I'd love to see someone make a baby blanket out of the pattern.  Myself, I plan to continue from the point above and make it a blanket after I finish a few more projects I'm working on.  You can also make a lot of the squares and just alternate turning the center up and down or as above, side to side once each one is completed and ready to be stitched together..

Oh and if you don't have 3 ply baby weight yarn, let me know what round you make it to when it hits 12x12 and I'll note it within the pattern.  Or what size hook you needed to use with 4ply yarn to make it 12x12.  Size is important.

If you want to be a tester, read the instructions below and let's get started!

Remember, everyone who tests any of the patterns will have their picture of the completed tested item shown in the blog next to their name as a tester. So show off your talents.

1. Must be a follower of this blog and an email subscriber. Not a follower yet? Sign up. Let me know your follower name.

2. Must be able to finish testing by Sunday March 28th.

3. Must be able to send me a picture of your finished square attached to an email.

4. Must be able to send me errors of any kind you find in the pattern.

So if you want to test, send me an email to the address below with your Follower name.

Thank you for sending your charity squares for the Peace Sign Afghan

I received an email from Mary who operates the charity called Online Angels.  She sent me this wonderful picture of Peace Sign squares received and made into the Peace afghan.  We both want to thank all of you who have requested the free pattern and followed through sending squares.  There is still a need for more squares for more afghans though so keep them coming.  Remember, they accept all kinds of squares.  6" x 6" and 12" x 12" along with many other items.  If you don't crochet or knit, they have other ways you can help.

Here is the link for their new blog:  http://craftingforonlineangels.blogspot.com/ and they also have a Yahoo Group that is very active.  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Online-Angels/

If you’d like to see their website here is the link. Just click on the large angel. http://onlineangels.myftp.org/

Jennifer's heart scarf using one of my patterns

Below is an email I received from Jennifer regarding a scarf she created that I really adore!  She used the 7" x 7" Fox's Heart of a Granny along with granny's and the colors... along with the model... are really beautiful!

Thank you so much for creating the lovely 7 x 7 Heart of a Granny Square pattern. :D I have used it to create a scarf for my nine-and-a-half-year-old niece, Samantha. She absolutely adores it, and I couldn't have done it without your help. :)

I've enclosed a photo of the project, in case you wanted to use it on your site, or even if you were just curious as to what I did with it. :D so here it is:

I really do enjoy seeing pictures of your projects using any of my patterns.  Free or purchased patterns, I would really like to see them all!  Are you doing something for charity with the squares? Send me your story and your pictures of completed items!!!

SmoothFox's Christmas Cheer Sampler - Free Patterns

Above is a picture of an afghan I made from the heart pattern below.  I believe it's so cute.  I just love it.

Spread the word, tell your friends and crochet groups. Give them the link to this blog page. I'm sure that some of you will make a wonderful sampler afghan for someone special. I'd love to show pictures of these afghans on the blog.

I was also thinking that the heart crocheted in red and the peace sign crocheted in a pretty blue, both with white borders would make an awesome afghan for soldiers or veterans. I believe it would really make a pretty patriotic afghan.

Happy Crocheting!
